As a little girl, I would watch my mom go about her daily beautifying rituals and when she had left for work, I'd "borrow" her makeup and try them on. I would lose track of time doing my Barbie coloring books, deciding what her hair color, eye color, eyeshadow, lipstick and even skin tone should be. I would get lost in my glamorous little world of high fashion and romantic bridal marches of cut-out paper dolls that I painstaking drew and colored. I would get excited at the thought that I'd be a flower girl during weddings or be part of the annual school productions because I'd get a chance to put on makeup. Little did I know that that passion for wanting to make women look beautiful was what I wanted to do all along. Now that I'm all grown up (most of the time), that dream of being a part of the fashion and wedding industry is a wonderful reality. It goes without saying that it takes a lot of dedication and hard work to get to where you want to be. I'm not quite there yet but I don't mind the challenges along the way. It was a unique celebration because not only were we surprised, "she" was surprised as well! The hors d'oeuvres were so yummy and so cute, we could hardly keep our hands off them. We really wanted to take them home.
